Marvin Six, Executive Director of the Northern Panhandle Business Development Corporation, served as the guest speaker. Six gave those in attendance an optimistic view of possible development coming to Brooke County’s business and industrial parks. He also said that he is meeting with a potential buyer of the former ADM building in Wellsburg next week.
Candidates for 2005 Wellsburg Citizen of the Year gathered together at a reception hosted by Mountainside Conference Center and Parkvale Bank. Suzie Q Bakery donated a cake in their honor and Wilkins Flower Shop gave corsages and boutonnières to the nominees.
Chosen through the votes of fellow Chamber of Commerce members, Tom Zurbuch received the honor of Wellsburg Citizen of the Year. Chamber President Steve Marino reads Zurbuch’s plaque to him before presenting him with the award.
